Therapeutic Approach
Collaborative, flexible, and trauma-informed. Therapy is tailored to your pace and needs, integrating emotional exploration with practical next steps.
“I like to tailor my approach to your individual needs. Some approaches may be person-centered, CBT-focused, SFT, IFS, or mindfulness-based. You are unique and so are your therapy goals! I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all but I am happy to help you in the way that works best for you.”

@emeraldvalleytherapyTypes of therapy
These are the approaches Emerald draws from, explained in plain language. In practice, they're blended and adapted to what works best for you.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Looks at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. You learn to notice unhelpful thinking patterns and practice more balanced ways of responding.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Builds practical skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and communicating your needs, while balancing acceptance with change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Focuses on understanding your emotions and the patterns they create, so you can build more secure and satisfying connections with yourself and others.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Works with the different 'parts' of you, like the inner critic or the part that avoids, with curiosity instead of judgment, helping them work together rather than against each other.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Combines mindfulness practices with cognitive tools, helping you step out of autopilot, notice your thoughts without being swept up by them, and respond with more intention.
Person-Centered Therapy
Puts you in the driver's seat. Rather than directing or diagnosing, the therapist offers a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore at your own pace.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Focuses on where you want to go rather than dwelling on what's wrong. You identify strengths you already have and build concrete, achievable next steps.
